I am currently talking to a few Audi dealers.

One offer I have now is:

2008 A4 2.0T 6-Speed Quattro
Premium
Heated seats
Convenience
Nav
Bluetooth
12k miles per year

Quoted me 37,7 and $447/month with 2k down

Hows that sound? Im also going to Mercedes tomorrow to look at a new C-Class. Think I can do better?

ya, thats a pretty good lease deal. You may want more than 12k a year unless you dont drive much.

In my opinion no lease is a good lease. You're just renting a car and getting nothing out of it.

Car's are negative equity to begin with. Unless your buying a car that will be a collectors car, pretty much any money you put in your not going to get out. At least with leasing when your tired of it you can give it back when the lease is up, and not have the hassle of trying to sell it, possible end up paying money to sell it too.

My car was $40k sticker and my lease is $495(tax included) with $2k down. 36MO/12k year

MB leases was way higher than Audi, at least in Miami. I was coted $549 for a $37K sticker car with $2500 down.

I have a supercharged 01 Mustang and a work car that I can use if that becomes an issue. [:D]

How does that justify a lease then? Your putting 2500 down on a car to rent for 3 years, plus if your on these forums you know your going to mod the car and in the end you spent a ton of money just to give it back.

Only thing Id do is chip it and tint it.

The mods can always be removed and sold separate. I only buy cars if used, never brand new.

Checked out some more lease options and nobody can even come close to the deal Audi is giving me with similar options.

Infiniti wanted 525 for a similarly equipped G35 [down]

If you know how to manage your money, you're diverting funds from a steeply depreciating asset (a car, a boat, etc) into something that will appreciate (stocks, funds, high interest savings, bonds, etc) .

So it's pretty stupid to buy a car unless you're getting an unbelievable 20% below invoice deal (like me) or you plan to mod it and keep it forever (what I used to think and no longer fool myself into).

Fuck a C-Class, you'll just look like a homo in it and get no respect on the road.

Ive got another dealer offering $479/month for the same terms but the car has titanium package S-line interior and satellite radio.

Which one?

Im not sure if I like the Titanium package wheels, or the Titanium package in general for that matter. [headbang]

Sounds ok... but I would tell them to do it without the $2K down... It's the same money out of your pocket, and you can do other things with that $2k that could actually make you money, instead of just throwing it into a lease...

As a reference, my cars sticker was $39k, and I bought it for $36k. No money down, I have a payment of $500 on a 36 month/15k miles per year lease...

Youre saying have them roll the 2k into the payments?

No, I am saying to have them take the money down out of the equation. All you are doing by putting money down is lowering the monthly "cash out" of you pocket. Instead of doing that, either have them work with the final cost of the car, lowering it to a point you are comfortable with, or just pay what it is without any additional cost reduction. Putting more money down on the car doesn't get you anywhere though. You would be better to take the $2000, put it in a savings account, make 4% on it, and divide it by 36 so that each month you take a portion out and use it towards your car payment, that way you are making a little on your money, instead of just throwing it away.

I hope this makes sense, PM me if you have any other questions.

Makes sense, but with less money down I will be paying interest on the greater amount, so its not much of a difference.

Will they change the wheels for me? I like the Titanium grill I think, but the wheels are beat.

I don't know about that howevr IMO if you're already going S-Line it's worth it to go Titanium for the black headliner/interior trim + grill and blacked out window trimming even if you also get the so-so wheels.

True, but you also have to think about the opportunity cost of not having that money for other things... just my $.02

The wheels just seem too boy racer for me. Bit ricey IMO. Then again I may be biased, coming from this Mustang.

Well said - I will never buy a car again as long as lease deals are "fair". After several years of always changing cars every 2-3 years, leasing works a hell of alot better in my case. And yes, I am investing the extra money per month away plus writing off the car for work! The wife keeps cars over 5 years so it makes sense to buy. I hate it when the lease-haters chime in on these posts when the OP is just asking if the numbers are fair. [rolleyes]

Back to the OP - get the titanium package!! Its rare and I wish I had it. Also make sure it at least has the sport suspension otherwise you will hate the 4x4 look.

If you don't put any money down, add ~$30 for every thousand you are not putting down (so in your case add $60 to that $479). I never put any money down because I always end up trading before the lease ends (I have what you call car-ADD). Every time I've traded I always ended up even (by lots of negotiations and number flubbing) or with my S4 even had fricken' equity! Good luck.

They said it has S-line package and Titanium package, so I assume that comes with the sport suspension. [confused]

Got with Titanium package for sure, I few extras that you won't regret it. Piano Black Trim, Black Headliners, black out outside trims. It's worth it the extra money.

Well folks here is an update.

The car with Titanium is 40k MSRP and 38k invoice.

The BEST I could get them to do was $469/month with 2k down.

The best I could do for the other car (no titanium, no S-line, no audio package) MSRP was 37,7 and I got them down to $440/month with 2k down.

I think Im going to see if they can throw in free oil changes or something and get the Titanium. What do you think?

Make sure that you get AudiCare, it's a great deal and it helps in your lease by adding the point back in that the S-Line will take away...

blown- what dealership is giving you that price?
audicare is a one time deal when you get a care from an audi dealership that is about 600 or 700 bucks and covers the 55/65/75k mile checkups that cost more than that EACH, def a good idea if you are planning on keeping the car for that many miles

Riverside Audi.

What do you think of that deal? Im leasing so I wont have the car at those mileage marks.

that audicare comment was for the other guy who asked about it but obviously you dont need it...anyways, i would calculate the difference between have larger monthly payments and putting money down and those smaller monthly payments to see which is more cost effective. 469 with all that stuff is pretty good and if your staying with the 2k down plan i would call two other dealerships in NJ and get a quote from them, thats always the best thing to do from my experience
