VAG COM cable question

Hey guys, i know the correct cable is stated in the guide here on zine. But i am on ebay and am confused which one to get... there are a few different choices. Could someone send me the link to which one i should get ? Need to start tryin to get some mods done over the xmas break. door ajar chime, windows come down with remote etc.

If you want to just do those mods, the cheap vagcom cables from alpha-bid will work fine. You can use the cable with the shareware version of vagcom. If you want to do CEL codes and CEL resets, you will need to purchase the authentic cable from Ross-Tech that runs with CAN (Controller Area Network).

Ok great. Yeah i think all i'll be doing is delete that stupid seat belt chime and also have the remote make the windows go up and down. However, lets say i try to upgrade to the RNS-E nav. Will this cable allow me to set any codes that i might have to change ?

Yes the cheapo cable will allow you to recode the RNS-E (connect to radio / navigation), but it will not connect to the bluetooth module should you choose to get one.
