Agree. I am doing research to replace my wife's damaged A4. I should able to get a 06' B7 Quattro CPO with the same color and options with 15K miles for about $26.5K before negotiation. Will be 2K less if it is not a CPO.

Have fun with your new ride.

Congrats on the pick up.. welcome to the quartz gray club, indeed hope you got a couple grand off that sticker... and be ready for the get'r chipped posts, but seeing that you came from a Passat, I bet you're already planning for that.

i did pay less just under 27k including tax, fees, registration, all that bullshit stuff with the 100k warrenty and the 75k mantenance package.

i would love to chip it but i really cant for now this is my grown up car (well this is my second the passat was supposed to be a grown up car but that didnt work) i really dont wanna do anything to mess with the warrenty, the hardest part is the audi dealer i got it from is a stasis dealer as well.

for now all its getting is tint, HID's/projectors, some sort of side markers and maybe debadge the A4 and 2.0t quattro on the trunk, would love a badgeless grill but i cant find one.

The passat was before i adjusted the coilovers i was 3 inches off the ground when i got done ran like that up until a month ago when i got the shine suspension.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, how many miles? If you're wanting to hold off on the mods, you're in the wrong place haha

i know its like asking a room full of drunks if you should stop drinking, but hey its all about self control, or is that lack of funds.

23k miles, and all i can say is damn theres a lot of buttons and hidden options that i kept finding on the test drive.

Well I picked up my new car on saturday and 3 hours later it was bucking and idling like crap, flashing CEL and now its steady but still running rough, seems to be a miss fire. Called the dealer and they are coming to pick up the car and drop off a loaner till it’s fixed. I do have to say that this is a good dealer there 50+ miles away and they are coming to my house to pick it up and drop off the loaner. The salesman is even coming with them to make sure everything goes alright. Oh well nothing I can do about it I’m just glad the dealer was really nice about it. They won’t call Audi care because they would take it to the local dealer and I don’t wanna go there and neither does my salesmen.

So are the coils in the 2.0t known to fail or could this be something else?

Yes, the coils have been redesigned, as has the diverter valve(another frequently failing part).

Man...if I were you I wouldn't tell them to take the car back and get your money back. If they didn't, I would threaten to get lawyers involved...How can they sell you a CPO that does that?

^^^ thats a little harsh dont you think...its not the dealers fault, its audi's fault for putting together a pos design...honestly i feel bad for the technicians sometimes...audi gives them such a weak vehicle design to deal with...i know many techs that have left audi due to this problem...they said they couldnt stand the coilpack and window regulator problems...everyday a new vehicle would be in for these problems...i think audi has some work to do...

ehhh...i blame the dealers. I think they knowingly sold him a car with problems. I don't think these things just appear. That seems like a major problem. However...maybe it did. If so, the dealer is not at fault here...something smells fishy to me though.

i dont know i test drove it for a good 45 minutes and never had a problem than it ran for 2.5 hours before it was an issue so i guess it will just take time to bad i really love this car so i guess we will see what happens, its wierd seeing a car you've only had for a few hours go away on a tow truck

that is a little harsh I have a 1.8t as well so i know these things happened on those but i thought they would have fixed it by the 2.0 FSIT guess not, thats just part of owning a VAG car i guess. no [drive] for me until its back [=(]

This is really bizarre! I just picked up an '06 Q 2.0T M6 with 24K miles today. Test drove it for 45 minutes - flawless (and what a FUN car to drive). Purchased the car and began the 2.5 hour drive home. Ran flawlessly for 2 hours, then suddenly began to run rough with the Check Engine light flashing [mad]. Basically limped home on 3 cylinders. Put it in the garage. Came out 1/2 hour later, fired it up and it runs perfectly.

I'd almost have rather that it was still misfiring. Intermittent problems are the worst. So, we'll see what happens over the weekend. I'm suspecting coil pack(s). [rolleyes]

That was mine after the first time it ran fine for about an hour then it was horrible miss fires flashing CEL and then solid CEL, let it sit over night started it and it ran fine for 10-15 minutes than miss fires again, called the dealer they came and picked it up after it got there 30 minutes later it was all set, they even through in some monster mats for free for my problems and ordered a windshield because they noticed mine had a chip in it. all in all the dealer was really good about it its been about a week and no problems have come up, well just one the smile on my face wont go away. Just very strange that we both had nearly the identical problem immediately after purchase [confused]. I'll take it out in the morning and see what happens. No big deal, just more of a PITA then anything. Especially with the dealer closed down over the holidays.

Your similar problems probably have something to do with similar miles and/or sitting on a dealer's lot for a while. Again, no big deal, coilpacks are cheap (and free if you're under warranty).

it is odd seeing how mine had 24k miles when it happened too. that was my thought i had another car to drive so that wasnt really an issue it was more of a pissed off that it didnt run right, and a PITA that it had to go back and i had to wait for the tow truck to show up.

If I was u I would make some kind of a stink about it. It really is bull shit. and about modding it. The one thing i would do if i was not going crazy with it would be suspension. atleast get some sport springs or something. will make the car look better, feel little better and makes the rims appear bigger. Thats my 2 cents

i really dont wanna do anything to mess with the warrenty, the hardest part is the audi dealer i got it from is a stasis dealer as well.

If its a statssis dealer too, can't you get it chipped along with the stassis warranty that matches the audi warranty?

audiB7t
12-25-2007, 07:07 PM
ya they can do things and keep the warrenty, the only problem is that i bought the A4 to just drive i have the passat to have fun and autocross, but the more i drive the A4 the more the mod bug bites, so saying that when it goes in for the next oil change its getting chipped by stasis keeping all the warrenties intact. nav and a sub sometime around january and rims come summer, thats it i swear well maybe some votex parts also.

I picked up the exact same car with 29k on it, I agree about all the owner settings, took me three days to get all the lighting, homelink, and default preferences set. All the coil pack failures are not a good thing, and I'm reading about more fuel pump / cam / cam bearing issues. Let's all hope we see upgraded parts under warranty.
I've got a few VAG-COM data changes that I'd like to make, Canada light settings for fogs, and cluster lighting changes from the way it is at the moment. Needs a boost gauge, then I'll chip for a bit mo' go. I already know that ESP in the snow is no fun, turn that off if you like to step out in a quattro, but ESP does what it claims. Enjoy yours, because I'm still grinning when driving mine.
