What would be a good 12 step program for deprogramming someone say a devote Mercedes Benz owner to switch car brands; in particular Audi [:D]
I'll start...
1) Mercedes (at least in SoCal) are the Toyota's of high end luxury cars, why would you want to be another lemming?
2)

2) The ride is tuned for the AARP, pension receiving population. That is unless you sell your kidney for the AMG versions.

oh that's a good one...
hmm...
3) Why would you want to be associated w/ a pretentious group of car owners that are aged and disconnected from being an active participant

4) Mercedes-Benz cars have boat-like handling and ride characteristics, unless of course, you sell an aforementioned kidney for the AMG-tuned versions
5) Quality control at Mercedes-Benz has been diving like a Stuka. Their reputation in the Fatherland has suffered greatly and I can direct you to 2 current E-class owners here in SoCal who have had rather unpleasant experiences with Mercedes-Benz quality.

Just 4 more! So far the list is really good haha.
9) You will be dealing with one of the warmest-hearted crowds: Audizine members and Audi owners... Who wants to go to boring "Grey Poupon/Viagra" car events and forums, when you have flame-bashing, tender-loving, AUDI owners? [:D]

Actually, MB does have a sport C230 in a six speed with bigger brakes and sportier suspension. It's advertised in the car mags. For gits and shiggles, my buddy goes to an MB dealer to inquire about the six speed C-class. There was none at the dealer, so they did a search, and found only two in existence. One on the east coast some where, and another in Hawaii. So MB advertised to the younger car enthusiast market, but failed to have cars available. Good old "supply and demand" always applies.
?#) Buying a Mercedes is like a buying JimmyZ apparel. You bought one only because everyone else bought one.
The big wigs I know only bought their MB to compete with their peers. A six figure sum could be better spent on their families.
Who remembers JimmyZ? For the record, I have never purchased any JimmyZ paraphernalia. So random... [:D]

well my family owns both MB and Audi... we have always been a german car family...
they are different animals.. and a person driving a MB wants different things then someone driving an audi...
Moms SL500 drives better then all the other conv. in its class...
but my A4 is way better then the C class....
anywho, my contribution to the list....
Audis are easier and cheaper to Mod.
they underpower, overweight, and overprice their cars, and like neo said, you've got to pay through the roof to get the power and quality you'd expect out of a mercedes (AMG)
