Currently I'm on stock 10 spoke sport rims, I was going to get rs4's and new tires but i'd have to get worse tires than I wanted so i'm going to spend money on performance instead. How do 225x50x16 fit on the stock rims. According to a tire size calculator they will need to be 50 sidewall not 55 to be the same diameter. Does 225 fit on 7" rims w/o looking stupid? If not whats the widest tire that will fit on 7" and look good. I've done searches before but didn't remember finding the answer. Sorry if I'm having a noob moment.

I don't have any pics of my 16x7 sport, but they fit. I was riding 225/55/16. Grip was insane! :D
Only thing I've got..click to enlarge?

What about 225x50x16? According to a tire calculator thats what size it would need to be so the diameter is the same. The main reason i posted this is because I don't understand why if only the width changes you need a smaller profile tire. Maybe the calculator is just wrong.

I'm running 222-50-16 on my stock sport pakage rims with no problems and they look pretty good. Grip is much better than stock size at 205-55-16.
