almost all vw's and audi's require a special tool to drain the trans fluid

It requires an allen socket to drain the pan, torx socket to remove the pan a #2 phillips to replace the filter(sometimes a torx) and a 90 degree fitting on the end of whatever hose you use to put the fluid back in with. the engine has to be cold and you use the vag-com to read measuring blocks to check fluid temperature....fill it till it runs out, start the car and fill it till it runs out at 25-35 c////that is a shortened version...you may want to consult a factory manual if you are not familiar with this...good call trying to diy this one(sarcastic remark)your trans runs $4-7k if you screw that up...good luck
