Just wondering If anyone knows what the stock 1.8T valve train can rev to or what have some of you big turbo guys have taken it too. Thanks in advance.

I cant imagine it going past 7500-8000, since they are not solid lifters.

I have been taking it to 7,500 car wants to keep pulling. thinking about taking it to 7,800 not sure if the stock head would like that or not.

7500 is the MAX i would go.. the biggest weaklink's are the sodium filled exhaust valves, and relatively weak valve springs..

upgrade your valves, springs, and retainers, with Ferrera or CAT and you'll be good for 8000-8500k rpms..

after that, you're most likely going to need solid lifters..

I wouldn't go past 7.5k on the stock setup. I personally only rev to 7200, but my plans for next season are solely about building the head.... 8k is my goal.

P.S. Have you ever dynoed? I would assume so running a stand alone. How much power did you put down?

i put down 332 on 18lbs. I am going to do a 24 lb tune soon, just got the motor finished, only has 1500 miles on it. I just swapped to a external wastegate and holy crap did it make a diffrence, the internal gate was deffinitly a restriction. check out my recent post i just did.
