Don't try spinning tires/driving like an a**hole in your driveway. I learned the hard way. Slid and slammed into the belgium blocks (about 6 in tall and 4 in wide -pure concrete & other stuff)...completely bent the axle and wheel and snapped 3 (lug)nuts. So wheel, axle. and tire needs to be replaced. Dealer said I shouldnt have even driven on it, it was so bad. GRAND TOTAL:$3600 <--BTW, not under warranty! Yikes! Were you driving down the road and tried to drift into the driveway or something?
Right after I bought my TT, I forgot it came with summer tires (during ice and 2" of snow) so I went out to test out how fun it was. Realized how shitty the tires were in the winter so I went to go home, then slid into a curb AFTER I was done messing around and being stupid lol. Damage list: half axle, wheel, control arm, tie rod, pretty much everything in the front driver corner. My cost was well over $3,000 as yours is, so it was a better idea for me to just take it out of insurance. My rate sucks right now, but I'm saving money in the long run once it goes down again.
My parts (half axle shipped from Germany) and labor took about exactly a month, so pray they have all the parts in or else you'll be A4less for a while. She will drive good as new when everything is fixed though [up]

I was just driving in my driveway, when the rear just went out. My Audi dealer is having it done by Friday (brought in Wednesday AM - out by Fri AM) --I tell you they are the fastest dealer I have ever been to. Of course, I learned a very valuable lesson -- from now on, I save the drifting/skidding to open parking lots!

Hey if it makes you feel any better I just lost my wallet containing hundreds of dollars + my identity because I got out of my car at some random spot last night to check under the front bumper for scape marks (no real reason to be doing this).
Lesson learned for me too: stop trying to act like a "baller" and leave extra cash at home. [headbang]

You're lucky you didn't have any body damage. Wouldn't that have been the icing on the cake?

I was praying I wasn't going to hit that stop sign pole (which I didn't) and let out a sign of relief when I just got pushed up that little snow bank. Then I tried to drive away and realized something was wrong when I wasn't going anywhere [:o]
I shouldn't have even been out though. It rained for a while then froze to the streets, then it snowed an inch or so if that. It was ice everywhere, especially in the residential roads since they weren't getting driven on as much to disturb the freezing process

honestly a wheel, axle, and tire is like $1000, way to take it up the butt

Yeah, plus Audi labor @ $10,000/hr. Parts don't magically put themselves on the car.

Wheel = $550
Tire = $150
Half axle was at least $200-$300, I can't remember
Labor = death
