I was wiring my boost gauge and the red and black wire i tapped into which lighted the vents touched each other i think and since then all the dash illumination is out. i checked the fuses and they all seem fine, wat could be the problem?

help will be much appreciated.

thanks

Have you disconnected that tapped wiring yet? The vent lights are only 6 volts. Gotta get your power elsewhere. 75x tap above your left ankle for positive. Any of the dash supports for ground.

It used to light up before tho, i think it only happened when the wires touched each other, Ill disconnect the tapped wiring and see what happens.

thats how i had mine tapped. the ground was a crappy thin wire which eventually broke. when i lost the ground i lost the light. so check the wires, it might be that simple..
I could never find a fuse that went to the vents..

Yea but I saw the wiring diagram and didn't get a clue wat the fuck it meant, so if there is a wise guy here on Az that can figure out where the relay or fuse for something like this is ill surely appreciate it.

Thanks

The only thing that fixed the problem was when i changed the entire instrument cluster. There is a chip inside the cluster that controls the illumination thats what i blew up.
