We got 11in of rain yesterday and i got forced into a puddle headlight deep. When i tried to shift into second gear, nothing happened. Car started bogging and my clutch and tranny started feeling slippery. Just got a new clutch a month ago and as of two days ago i was shifting fine from 3-6rmps into second. Now my gears grind in second at 2rmps and up. Is there anyway that there is water damage done to my transsmission or clutch? Does it maybe need to dry off and then i can go back to having a second gear? Get back to me please.

clutch most likely.

that much water would have definitely got into the bell housing if the car wasnt moving quick enough.

i doubt it got into the gearbox itself.

this is an insurance issue if you have full coverage.

So do you guys think that letting the clutch dry would possibly solve the problem? Thinking of getting the tranny drained while im at it. The funny thing is that all the other gears are pretty normal shifts. Second is gone but then tomorrow morning i bet it will be fine for a couple of shifts.
