Do you have Nav? You only get the color DIS if you have the Nav...I think.

i have the conveniance package but i don't have Navi.....weird cus my friend has an 06 without Navi and his screen is colour and he has the reset button on his wiper nob

Only 05.5 and 2006 B7's came with the color display. 2007 and up get only the red cluster similar to the B6 cluster

You only get the color screen with NAV. I've got an 08 S Line with every option but NAV and I've got the red screen. Also the reset button is on the bottom edge of the wiper lever.

Some cars don't have it the reset button on the wiper. I had a loaner that didn't. I was very surprised.

Another hack at the features list for the 07s. [down] Good thing this one didn't affect me (got RSN-E).

I have an '06 with Premium and Sunroof packages, and don't have the color DIS or the button on the wiper stalk for the trip computer.

So for those of you who have (or have driven) cars without the reset button on the wiper stalk, was it located somewhere else or missing altogether? If it was completely missing I don't see how you could cycle through the 2 trip computers or get to the setup menu.

If you don't have the button (like me), you don't have a trip computer. It sucks. I don't see avg. MPG or anything else you guys with the trip computer get.

it was missing and I couldn't find it anywhere else. I think the trip computer thing is in one of the packages...not sure which one though.

Not true, My 2007 A4 avant has RNSe + color DIS. The color DIS is a seperate option for 2007, or it came when RNSe was ordered.

Like the others said NO RESET BUTTON = NO TRIP COMPUTER - it's that simple. I didn't even *think* of adding it because I thought something so basic would be standard in an Audi. I only get the cruising range data... sucks.

In order to get Color display, you need to have Technology package!

I just picked up my 06 A4 S-Line 6spd quattro, and it has color display because it has a technology package. It does not have a nav.[race]

Maybe it was a good idea for me to buy a lease return... 2005.5 with premium and convenience here, color screen and trip computer with the reset button...

and memory seats, folding mirrors, reverse tilt down mirror, 3spoke steering wheel, heated rear seats, okay I'll stop teasing you guys [;)]

Well, in '06 I know it required the technology package to get the MFD, and it only cam as an LCD (white/red) not LED (red only). You still have the mileage, but that's about it. Didn't matter Nav or not.

Pissed me off, since every Audi or VW I've owned in the past 16 years has had the trip computer. Didn't even bother thinking it was now an option.

Not sure about 08.

I thought and was pretty sure that the color DIS only comes with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

I could be wrong, but I feel 90% confident on this because this was something I was looking for when I was purchasing a B7...

I was gonna do aftermarket Nav so I didnt order my car with the NAV option I have bluetooth tho.

My car was built in May of 2007. I do have the NAV system so thats why mine came with the color DIS. Does your Avant have nav?

2005.5-2006 possibly 2007 it was the technology package, they change their packages and what they offer just about every year.

No TPMS on 2005.5s. But we get a lot of other things that Audi axed from later MYs like memory seats and color DIS (both with the proper packages)

we can blame the euro vs. dollar discrepancy for the changes... i wish i had memory seats, folding mirrors, the warning triangle/emergency kit in the trunk, etc.

it's happening with bmw and mercedes as well.. before you know it, cupholders will be an option

If you have the convenience package, it comes with an extra option on the knob where you adjust your rear view mirrors. when you turn it 180degrees, the mirrors automatically fold in themselves.

In Canada it was supposed to be standard with our 2.0T Special Edition Package; a bunch of these SE's came in without the monochrome (red) trip computer, including my Avant. I made a fuss about it and Audi is retrofitting the trip computer capability. I asked for and will get the colour trip computer (I'm paying an incremental charge for the colour display). A new instrument cluster and wiper stalk is needed for this and will happen this coming Tuesday.

For later Canadian MY08's, the monochrome trip computer is part of the convenience package. The colour display is part of the NAV package.

When I looked at the USA site (http://www.audiusa.com) they only seem to mention driver information system and I can't find the words "trip computer" in any of the options - just references to DIS or colour DIS

exactly. monochrome means red lighting not colour. You don't have a trip computer? I have color display, I have all the options and packages available from Audi.

What about memory functions for seats? I had an 06 S Line/Comfort/Convenience and now my 2008 doesn't have the color screen or Memory seats even though it has all the options minus Nav and Parktronic.

Thank God, I was hoping I didn't have the TPMS on my 2005.5. I thought I did until I swapped wheels. I can check my damn tires myself or fell if I get a blowout, I don't want to buy sensors and swap them around every time I rotate/change wheels.

How do you fold the mirrors?

There is a dot on the bottom of the knob, 180 degrees from the top. Twist the knob to that down position and both side mirrors fold in, then twist the knob to one of the 3 normal positions (left, middle (heated), or right) and the mirrors fold out normal again.

Will you make a thread about this after it gets done and tell us everything that was involved? What had to be replaced, reprogrammed, etc? I thought it was more involved than just replacing the wiper stalk, but I could be mistaken.

I have a 08 A4 S Line with all the options..i noticed that my screen in between my guages are only red instead of red with white....any ideas why?

Also my clock is only in 24 hour mode but i can't change it to 12 hour mode..

The reason you're getting so many conflicting reasons for only having the monochrome display is because AoA has (as they typically do) rearranged their option packages every year of the B7's life cycle.

You can not compare one model year to the next beause the option packages have change drastically every year. Option packages and available features also depend on the country you live.

All that said, you do not have the color DIS because you do not actually have "all the options".
