I'm planning to paint the chrome piece in my headlights black.

Should i

a) paint it brilliant black (color matched to car)
b) paint it matte black

Thanks for your input [hail]

the CC mod will show you how to do this....

3 screws and the flat piece along the headlight is out and ready for painting.

no there is no other way you can do it...

It's really easy to do, compared to the actual clear cornering part. The amber cap would not come off no matter what! I had to actually accidentally on purpose break off a piece of the housing (located in the back where you can't see) and glue it back on... The actual headlight in the oven was a piece of cake.

Painting that chrome strip is easy. Torx 8 screwdriver removes it and then you can prime it and paint it. I'll get pics up later

thanks for the input!

Here's (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=167572) the link to my tutorial on how to paint the headlight housing. I went flat black also. Good luck.

I wish I had done this when I did the cc.
I am going to make mine matte black, which I would thus suggest.

I have them painted in matte black.

The look great, that with the clear corner changes totally your front end.

But I do feel a difference, light seems not to be as bright as it was.

I guess I lost some "reflection effect"

I have halogens BTW

Not sure exactly, i know other people have done it without high temp paint... I think 2 layers of primer will be sufficient.

Anybody want to chime in?
