Now that it's cold out, whenever it is about or below freezing and my car is cold the radio never functions. It turns on and does everything else normal, spins the cd and everything but sound never comes out of the speakers. After roughly 5 minutes of driving and after the car is heated up, sound suddenly comes through the speakers as if I had it on mute the whole time or something. Anyone ever experience this? It has never done it before, and only cuts out at freezing temperatures when the car is dead cold until it warms up. [:(]
I have a 2005.5 B7 A4 with the Premium Bose stereo.

I had a problem like that. For the first 5-15 minutes of driving FM was nothing but loud static (even with volume at 2 or 3), the CD player worked intermittently, but AM always worked.
After 3 trips to the dealer and a new headunit, the radio finally worked.

I can switch stations, the CDs will change/spin/elapse in time, but no sound ever comes out of the speakers. It only happens when it's freezing cold so it can't be a loose connection and I was hoping it would be a simple fix [:(]
I have the old style Bose HU, maybe the dealer will swap me to a new style one? Maybe it's my lucky day [az]
Did they completely replace yours and update to the newer style?

I asked of they could upgrade me to the Symphony 2+, I said I would even pay a bit for it, but no luck with that

Just in case anyone ever searches for this problem, the problem ended up being my oem amplifier. Audi said it's happened in a bunch of cars, but not that many where they needed a recall. The dealership replaced it for free under warranty [up]
