this maybe a stupid question but what kind of power steering fluid do you guys use? I hear the weird noise recently when cold start, after warm up it sounds ok. check the PS fluid level today and found out its below min. [mad]...
just want to make sure that the PS tank is located behind the passenger side headlight right?

to my knowledge yes , VW & Audi power steering fluid , Part # G 004 012. since we're on this topic , is the steering wheel fluid suppose to be green? in the bottle i mean , i bought it from Stevens Creek Audi and was surprised to find green fluids gather then the ruby reddish color.
pick up the audi oem stuff at the stealership.
x2.

weird.
i'm pulling up this part number G 002 000(A)
But yeah, on something like this, I'd get OEM.
That part number references Pentosin CHF 11S or FEBI ( i can't read the number its too small).
Both bottles are a shade of fugly green : )
it lists for 23.40. i can get you a bottle for 19OTD.

ok, this may also be a stupid question, but what is the difference between regular power steering fluid and the oem audi fluid??

About $3,000 worth of repairs to your Audi. ONLY use pentosin. You do not have to get it from the dealership, but do NOT use anything else. The right stuff is a modified mineral oil and anything else will trash seals, etc.
Honest.

i would like to know how to change the hoses, it seems to be leaking from the hoses right above the oil filter, hopefully they are not the expensive pressure hose... any write up on how to change the hoses? couldnt find it here on the forum...
