I really didn't want the type that plugs into the lighter, rather the type that plugs into an home outlet. I want something strong enough to add a couple pounds to the tires any recomendations? thanks all [;)]

Oh I think this may plug into the lighter sorry, but it may have leads for the battery? either way I think a wall plug limits you , unless you want to drag an extension cord out every time you want to use it....

Check out Viair compressors. I have a 480C filling my 5 gallon tank in the trunk for my air suspension. They have smaller versions that would do exactly what you want for pretty reasonable prices.

That would work just fine, but it's a pretty large setup. Is this something you plan to carry with you all the time? If so, just a compressor without an attached tank would be perfectly adequate.

Whats your budget? Size constraint? Noise constraint? What else will you be doing with the compressor?

I had picked the above one because I will be keeping it in the garage. I wanted something that would plug into an outlet as opposed to the car. At this point I don't think I will be using it for anything but airing up tires [:o].
