All-season tire opinions please

I am about to order the VMR reps in 18". Id value your opinions in reference to an all-season tire choice.

1. I live in NE Ohio where we have 3 months or so of snow.
2. I am not overly concerned with performance.
3. tread life matters.
4. ride comfort matters somewhat.
5. The stock Pirellis that came with my 05.5 seem ok, showing some treadwear at 30k.

The tirerack gives me some ideas, but all that performance, super performance tire stuff is confusing to me.

if tread life matters to you and you'll use them in snow, buy a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS and call it a day.
