I seem to get pretty good help from this side of the B5 family, so I'll just copy and paste my thread over here.

I'm looking to have some 18's made.. honestly forgive me for not searching, but I need answers fast, and I hate missing a thread that I didn't find where somebody had the answer.

Background:
-I tuck a little. Don't plan on changing it.
-I have a Brembo 355mm GT kit in the front.
-I have front CPP Adj. control arms, don't mind a little camber.
-Stasis Tracksport Coilovers 700F/800R

-Looking to go 18x8, 18x8.5, or 18x9
-Looking to run a decently wide tire, nothing smaller than 235.. 245 preferred.. 255 would be a dream.
-Don't mind a little rubbing, my current rim and tire combo I think I can fit a piece of paper between the fender and tire, which are now for sale.
-Don't want staggered rims are ok, staggered offsets are preferred.
-Maybe a small lip in the front, a decent lip in the rear (I know I can't have everything, so multiples choices would be really appreciated)
-Pictures welcome

TIA
J

And I was pretty dead set on getting some Work Meister S1's or SSR Professor SP1's.. so I did a little research, sadly it seems like it has been done before, but at least, it gives me a nice visual. This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.. just in an 18" rim.. can anybody give me some widths and offsets to achieve this?

18x8.5/38et and 235/40/18 with rolled fenders will rub on occasion if low and if slammed will rub even more, but depending on the spoke design, you may have BBK clearance issues.

someone just posted they were looking to get 245/35's which should also work on an 8.5" rim up front.

for the back, you have a bit more room to play with regarding the fender lip, but have to be careful of the upper control arms - tires like to rub there as well.

some others may be able to add some more info.

I just picked up a set of 8.5" wheels that are 45et because I needed to clear my BBK's front and back. I found that it's easier to get a big 'et' and then space it out a bit with 4 or 8mm spacers to clear the BBK and get them flush with the fenders. For me, 8mm works up front and 4mm works in the back.

That I don't mind, I can run a little camber if need be. So an 18x8.5 with a 38 offset will put me against the fender decently if pretty low? If so, perfect. The spokes don't seem to worry me because they convex, I think the the caliper against the barrel is what I'm worried about the most. On my 18" Work Emotions I have literally like an 1/8th inch of gap.

Anybody wanna give the back size a shot? Remember I'm going for exactly the same setup in those pictures.

I just picked up a set of 8.5" wheels that are 45et because I needed to clear my BBK's front and back. For me, 6mm works up front and 4mm works in the back.

Right now I'm running 19x8 DTM Kruez 10's with 15mm spacers, I can't remember the offset to save my life but they have a 2" lip on all four with 245's. I'd like to stay away from spacers and run as much rim and tire as I can.

my bad. I just re-read what I wrote. with the new wheels and 45et up front, I'll be running 8mm spacers, not 6. Corrected my original post.

How about this, who on here has 18's that have a hard time staying behind the fenders so I can get at least an idea.. I know one of you bastards have to know somebody around here[:)]

And thanks Audisnapr for the help so far.

17's Won't clear my brakes (maybe some specifically made ones will) [;)]

And 17's as low as I am pose quite a problem here in MA, trying to stop abusing my oil pan.[:)]

I'm tired of 19's I'm more of a performance guy and imo they look a little big, so I'm going 18's for various reasons. Gives me a better tire choice as well.

Anyway guys, come on!

So far it seems like I can run an 18x8.5 38et in the front by audisnapr, probably go with a 245.. what if I was to run 18x8.5 in the rear? What offset would push it against the fender and give me a little scrubbing action?

Are your fenders rolled?

Whats the width and offset of your rim?

I'm not sure where all the staggered guys are at, but I'm surprised no one can post up some helpful info.

have you looked through this thread? http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28941

I run 245/40-17 on 17x8 et35. Not the same thing but you can look at the inner clearance and do some simple math with widths and offsets.

Inner clearances for the front and rear are approximately 3/8 and 1/4 respectively.

Front clearance:

I even PMed a couple people and haven't heard anything back yet.

Either way thanks for that link, I'll look through it a little later.

Look up any of my post...
I run et 18 on a 17 x 8.5 up front on 205/45/17. I know you want to run wider tires.
I never, ever, have rubbed and I'm at 22.7" ground to fender, which is most likely lower then you on 18's. I run 9.5 in the rear, et 22, they poke, look for my threads i have helped a dozen people sizing staggered wheels. Any specific questions you can PM me.
