It seems like practically very person on audizine is running 19"'s on their A4, and I want to go from OEM 17's to 19"s but I'm worried about the handling and ride. I live in Baltimore, MD and I'm thinking that in the winter I might be hating the wheels. Any drivers take em in the snow and how are they on a 30+ mile commute every morning?? Any suspension tips?

hmm, not TOO many all season 19" tires out there. I don't think it's practical for snow driving, to be honest. I'd keep the 17's for the snow tires if I were you. That aside, I don't know about your roads, but the ride is good on decent roads. If your commute is full of potholes, I'd stay away.

For suspension, you can always go with a spring/shock combo if you're on a budget. Otherwise, I'd recommend getting coilovers, especially since you have winter driving to do. It would make it more convenient if you can raise the car easily for the snow.

The handling aspect is much better, but the suspension does all the work. I can say that it is not as comfy wit 19" but not bad at all. I wouldn't go any smaller.

being from MD.. I would have to say that 19s may be a bit too much for a person.. you should ask yourself this to start out with...
how many times do I hit potholes... even when avoiding them.

if your answer is more than 10x a month... dont go with 19s.

...especially potholes that are the width of the entire lane. Here's what happened to one of my 19's recently [mad]

Why don't you go just 18s"? I think that's what most people run on here anyway. 19"s aren't that bad, but 18's give the look of 19's with the proper drop. I think 19's are pushing it. 18's are now becoming OEM on alot of cars, therefore it's not hard to find tires along with shops to mount them. Just my 2 cents.

In no way do 18" give the look of 19". Anyone who has seen the 2 can tell the difference easily.

He loves the sound of rim on pavement action.
