you gonna get a silver cf weave!!?? and do the roof and trunk in silver as well???

what I would do, is search the shipping prices companies are using off of ebay to ship a hood, then calculate the packaging material cost in... you can call UPS store with the cute girl and ask them.... or better yet, go in there and now you have a reason to talk to her ;)

also, the shipping distance factors into the price... on average id say it might cost around 150 minus the packaging materials... hope that helps at all

not sure if it would be worth the hassle, most companies ship the hoods freight.

Call the dealership parts counter and ask which body shops order hoods. Call the body shop and ask them to hold onto a box for you. You can grab all the perfect packing materials for free.

i shipped a fiberglass hood from CT to WA and it cost like $250 and UPS snapped it in half, blamed it on duct tape (as opposed to packing tape) and then proceeded to lose it so they had to pay me anyway, but I wouldn't ship with UPS

if you're going to ship a hood use some sort of freight shipping

Normal freight charge for shipping a hood is around $150-$170, but it depends how close that freight company is to you.

Big ass hood box. Arrived via Fedex Freight from California for about $262.

The blocks are normal styro cubes with slots cut into them for the hood. This more or less kept it suspended.

This black stuff was probably shrink wrap. It stretched like Saran Wrap but was thick like a trash bag. The hood was all shiny and clean underneath. Do the buyer a solid and wash and wax it well before wrapping.

The hood box is biiiig. Looks like a mattress wrapped in cardboard.

How come it cost you that much to have a hood shipped freight from CA? Only asking because FI told me that it was $170.87 to freight a CF hood from CA to NJ.

The price I paid for for a shipped hood. I didn't think it would be that much either. I only knew because it was labeled COD even though he pre-paid. That was a long strange round of phone calls.
