So Ive noticed my car being extra slow the past couple of days, but today it got really bad. I really thought I was going crazy and just got used to the chip (GIAC X-chip). I had some friends drive it and we all agreed that it was slower than before the chip. So I thought maybe the ECU turned back to stock for w/e reason since I had no CEL code. On my way back from the gym, sure enough, I get the wonderful CEL code.
I think it might be one of two things.
DV went bad and I need to replace it, if so, recommendations?
Or I have a boost leak, and need to get Samco hoses. I doubt this is it bc this happened to me in my B6 and I could literally hear the leak.
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Car has 1300 miles and I have the GIAC X-chip.

if you have access to a vag com i would suggest logging boost
the most common problem is of course the dv, i would start your investigation there. apparently it does not always throw a CEL

DUDE, I tried that and thats how I narrowed it down to a torn DV.

Ok, so then take the next logical step. Get under your car, take off the belly pan, unscrew the three screws that is holding your DV in and check it.

If it's ripped, then you replace it. Not sure exactly what you are asking here. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, then take it to a shop to have it diagnosed.

It is most probably the dv because that is a very common problem with our cars. I had giac x-chip and my dv ripped too. i replaced it with the forge dv and its fine now.

WOW, you got a beat down from a noob no less. [:D] OHNANA4 is perfectly correct though; it's most likely the DV. Checking it is fairly easy, and since you're chipped, going to the dealer could be risky unless you can take your car back to stock programming.
I'll also throw out there that many people are running stock DV's with success. Don't feel like you *need* a Forge DV. Get another OEM and if you blow it again, then consider the Forge. This is of course just my opinion...
Nice ride BTW. Love the white!

I'm not sure what you want from us now that you have narrowed it down... how much more narrowing can it get?
VAG COM - boost?

A CEL can appear for countless reasons. You should check it at a shop with the proper diagnostic tool.

I agree if you can take it to the dealer and have them do a dianostic to find your problem. It is probably one of two things, a torn DV or a damaged PCV valve.

Yea it was the DV. Bought and installed the Forge DV instead of getting the OEM one which probably wouldnt have lasted too long anyways.

Best bet is to go to the dealer. I thought I had a torn DV and what not, but it wasn't the problem. =(

Well Ive only had it on for 2 days now, but it feels great!! Only time will tell if it holds up longer than the OEM DV. Mind you, the OEM DV lasted me about a month with the chip.
