my buddy has been running one for a while now and it seems to be pretty reliable. he didnt do any internal work and it runs great.

I have seen the B5 kit and it looked great. However there is a 3.0 B6 guy who has one local to me and it is an abortion. Thing looks like some back yard mess of an install. I have heard that he's not too happy about it at all.

From what I've heard, they're pretty decent. If you know what you are doing, or have someone else do the install that knows what they are doing, I don't think you'll have many regrets [;)]

P.S.,
This was installed my the company whom markets the kit. (nameless of course)

They claim 295hp, but its more around 280hp real world numbers. Mid to low 13s are def possible with it.

Do a search for the PES charger I google. I found an article that talked about how their main objective was to keep the car reliable; the market of people who buy the car are wanting an affordable, dependable daily driver. They didn't want to sacrifice any of that.

I guess they spent like 1000 hours tuning the ECU, too.

whatever you want to know. problems ... none. was it worth it? not at $5k, but if you can find a used one for $2500 or so I think that it is worth it. makes the car fun to drive and gives it decent pep.

there is a local horror story of someone putting a G2 on a 2.8 and it blew the engine. they went to PES and never got any help from them. i'm sure it was an argument of who's fault it was and this and that.

i'm not worried about supercharging my auto, but i've been contemplating getting another 2.8 and going G2 just so i can 1. get a manual 2. my PSS9's would swap 3. i would feel more comfortable putting more money into body kits and such since, under that circumstance, i'd probably have the car longer.

i'm hoping this 2.8 gets me through the rest of school and then i'll decide what i want to do then.

if you do something stupid you will have problems. obviously i cant speak to every failure, but from what i have heard they have been when people install the kit and go wot on the first drive without logging anything. at the very least you should have a vag-com in order to make sure everything is running properly and correctly installed.

the guy who blew uo his engine was running a highly modified g2, he was running like 15 or 17 PSI on the track and melted a piston, factroy specs are 9 psi ish, so it was alot more. from my research i think that even with the 2.9 inch pulley which gives about 10-12, with metch injection its quite reliable, check out scaudi.com for ALOT of info

we put one on my brothers 2.8 and the PES G1 supercharger works great. The only problem that we have with it is........ that at this alititude it runs rich.I understand that cars at sea level don't have this problem. The system for sure woke his car up and made it 10 times more fun to drive. We needed to do nothing to the bottom end but expect to put a new clutch in soon or upgrade it while she is in the shop. It is really a bolt on/ chip ecu and go kind of project. You had to modify a few plastic parts, cut the ears of the MAF and round it out. You may not even need to do this for the G2 system. All in all....thumbs up for the system.
