Very pissed at southbend right now...

I'm doing the 2.8 tranny conversion among other upgrades and went with a south bend clutch, the clutch came in the package was in mint condotion but the clutch either looks like someone droped it or it was messed up during the manufacturing process. Im so dam pissed I wanted to drive my car this weekend now I have to wait till Monday to see what they are going to do.. check out the pic..
Not happy at all with south bend right now.. I geuss we will see how well they react to a very unsatisfied customer..

thats what my boy said, but the part of the disk is a different color then the rest and there is a pritty big chunk out of the side of the disk, I dont want to chance a stress cracture, i have 340hp.. and you spent 600 on a clutch it should be mint period

I would be pissed too... i would demand free overnight shipping as well. I must say that i am happy with my sb clutch, however.

After 5 minutes of driving it isn't even going to matter.

So did you call SB yet or is this purely a "rant" thread? Honestly, Andy is a super nice guy and is very receptive to his customers. The missing chip of disc material won't matter at all (which anyone who manufactures or installs will tell you). The point is to not make a fuss until you know exactly whether it will matter or not.

That chip (or hanging chad) won't affect anything. It should be removed before installation but that shouldn't slow you down much.

My SB clutch and SS pressure plate went in a couple years and 30-40k miles ago and is still working just fine. Skip the drama, call Andy, install the clutch, put the bad juju behind you.

The side of the disk does not make contact with the surface of the flywheel or pressure plate so as everyone has said it isn't going to make a difference.
