Suggestion please...

[S2K TO A4]

OK, so ive been looking around and still cant figure out which Audi i want(used).

I have roughly about $14k max on how much the car should be. Which would be an idle Audi? I've been looking at the A4 1.8TQ 99+. Ive done alot of research on plans for the car(FMIC,DV,etc) whats your stats one them?

What other models should i consider that would be interesting or better than my first choice?

how about a B5 S4, I sold mine for about 16k, and she was super clean with Rims an standard Upgrades....about 80k miles....just make sure you have about 3-4k for Turbo Swaps...

The B5's will always be faster than the B6's no matter what!!! 2.8 to 3.0, 1.8t to 1.8t, and 2.7t to 4.2

I suggest a B5 S4 avant. Or any avant actually. If I could do it all over again I'd get a wagon.

Well the B5's are quicker than the b6's stock or modified ( with the same mods that is), so it sounds like you want either a B5 a4/S4 ( i recommend an S4).

Id imagine going from an S2000 you'll be dissapointed with the performance of the 1.8t. However, youll be amazed at the level of build quality, design, and attention to detail.

Is $14,000 your budget for the car? or the car and mods? I'd definately grab a B5 S4 if your budget was just for a car. or you can pick up a decent b5 a4 and spend about $10,000 and get maintenance done and get an upgraded turbo, fmic, software, etc for the remaining $4000.

I'd still suggest a b5 s4 over the alternative. I want one now for a track car.

D-Bo, dont get me twitted now. I just spit out the facts. B5 = faster and B6 = sexier. It all depends on what he wants and it sounds like hes headed towards the B5. That would also leave some oney left over for a quick mod or two.

Nothing wrong with the look of the B5 sedan. I still like em'. Compared to the B6 they are just not as sexy lookin. The only trade I would make though is my B6 Avant for an S4 Avant or sedan.

I love the B7's more than the B5 and B6. Just cant get into one just yet.

It is a fact that the B5 is faster. Just think about what happened on your street [:D]

However it is a complete matter of opinion on which looks better.

I personally like the look of the B5 a bit more because it's a little smaller and more rounded out. All depends on what you like.

Thanks everyone for the replies. So thats to you all my choices are down to the B5A4 and the B5S4. I like the looks of both so time will tell next week, i just finished putting the S back to stock. Stock is so ugly looking especially its like million feet off the ground now(was at 2in).

Not really, the ABS will go out no matter how well its maintained, just look at the b5 forum, everyones ABS is going out, theres a new victim/thread made about it everyday. Its one of those Audi certified club problems, once it happens to you, youre in the club. Like puberty. [;)]

^ the one above, i got for 12.5k 2 years ago with 80xxx miles, 6 speed:)
it is not that slower then my friends b5s4 stage 2+ BUT for sure better interior and more room, big plus if you have a baby! :)

Hercules or The Rich? Im in Hercules everyday dropping off and picking up my kids from school. Im in a 3.0 though [:D] and is slower than a B5 runnign stage 1+. Even thats as slow as molases compared to your S2K.

Not a problem. I thought you were looking for a turbo though? The 3.0 is only good for reliability and does not pack any punch what so ever. I can however get around good on an autocross or road course [:D]

Its up to you though. I think a good day would be on the 30th. I know someone that is renting out a local track and maybe you can get behind the wheel on that day. Ill check to confirm the date and see if its cool for other folks to go. LOL, maybe you can even get the S2K out for a spin [up]

Oh dang didnt know thats what your running. But hey you can change my mind never know[;)] Yeh let me know the track or whatever, but slight chance that the s2k might get traded in by the 25th(mybday) as a gift for my self.
