Hey all, I Have a 97 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro 5speed manual.

Following are installed

.57 Trim T3/T4
3" MAF Housing
Bosch 440cc injectors
Stock 4bar FPR
And all other supporting EXCEPT Tuned ECU/ Tune Source. (Still running on stock PSi and Stock injectors w/ Bosch 440s on the side).

I was thinking of getting a GT28Rs Mika tune since it's closest to my .57trim T3. Please Advise Me of other sources that are better. I do not want to have to turn to stand alone unless I absolutely have to. And I know Mika isn't the best. But Thats Why I'm here asking for Advice!

So! That being said Guys! Take it away! I'll Be Reading!....[az]

Might as well go with TAPP Auto, but you will have to switch over to a Ford 4" maf.

PES uses GIAC software for their Stage 3 kit.

This also leads me to believe that u have not searched stage 3 software or BT software as yet...

1st lesson:
Use the search button... [:p]
Look for a car with a similar setup as you do and see what tuning option they chose. (http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128610&highlight=review)

Oh. If your talking abotu that kind of research... I've done my fair share.. Out of all the ones Ive seen Ctapp is the best but he quotes 800 which is steep. aswel as mika. Basically I wanna know whats the best bang for buck deal? And still Is a company with a good tune. And would it end up being a 034 Fuel only controller? i mean you do get alot more features for around the same as many fo these other tunes.. but i dont want to dick around with tuning it myself.

I don't know why the other members has failed to mention STAY AWAY FROM MIKA~!

CTAPP is probably the best option for that turbo on your year..... Otherwise go standalone for maximum power and future growth.

Well don't short on software...
If nismo didnt sell that pes 1.3 chip you could run that. That's if budget is your main concern.

You have a few options:
Unitronics
PES t-28 based chip
Chris Tapp

All are above $800 by themselves.
I'm not sure where you can find programming cheaper.

Perhaps he meant a tune? Actually tuning a motronic ecu requires loads of time as well as $$$$ for a tuning package and that wont give you an upper hand on anything, just the ability to comunicate with the ecu, modify maps and perform checksums. I beleive that the DBC cars can be modded with free software but the dbw have a different motronic based system that you wont be able to crack without a $10k tuning suite (hardware, software, licenses, etc)

I went w/ CTapp on my car and was extremely pleased. Unitronic is yet another option. Stay away from Mika, besides your 57 Trim is alot bigger than a GT28RS.

For the CTapp Tune, you'll need 60lb(630 cc) Siemens Deka injectors, an adj FPR set to run @~3 bar, and a 2nd Gen ford lightning 4" MAF. You'll also need a wiring harnes sold by CTapp for $30 to splice the new maf into your cars current maf wiring harness. You won't be disappointed with this setup. I bought a 2 file ecu, one for pump gas, one for race gas.

I see no mention of a WBO2 sensor...you should absolutely have one.

he was working on something a while back but at the time I was ready to buy s/w for my setup, he didn't have anything concrete so I went with CTapp. I haven't heard much about it since.
