I just bought my 99 2.8 Quattro and I have come to realize that speed is something that i have not found in this car.

Don't get me wrong she's a beauty and I 'm going to make her look gooood...but i think she's a little too turtle for the turtle club.

Is it even worth it to add mods as far as engine and HP goes...will she ever fly?!?[=(]

I saw some aftermarket cam shafts that supposedly added some HP is that true..if so what's the brand to use?

PES G2 claims 295+bhp and with a 21% dt loss that's like 230+awhp. pretty solid if you ask me... And nothing feels good like a SC'd car... no boost lag, just linear power

I would just save that money...unless you want to sell your car, buy a 1.8t and dump a few grand into that for 400 hp

Supercarge, intake, exhaust. put all the civics in your town to shame and be diffrent for every other A4 owner.

ORRRR you can go the route of the VR6 boys and get a remote turbo. Now you wanna talk about the coolest turbo temps... when it's like halfway to the muffler.... That would be really sweet, but the issue you might encounter would be the tuning and the ECU. Not quite sure how that would work.

cams are not going to be the best bang for the buck...

my cousins neighbor has a really nice 2.8 (custom cat back, intake, chip, suspension) basically fully modded plus some minor weight reduction and he beats up on chipped 1.8t. proly one of the faster non sc 2.8 out there

remote turbo isnt as efficient as one right on the manifold

high exhaust temps = high exhaust velocity.

supercharge it!

nice times for that car but I'm sure he's dumped a ton of money into the motor/chassis/drivetrain.

it's really apples to oranges. we all know the 1.8t is superior lol[eek][:D][:D][:D]

supercharge it! Tell that to all the S+S turboed Vettes. Plus the remote turbo will operate under cooler conditions since the air will have time to cool before entering the turbo. Not a lot but is cooler than a manifold mounted turbo. Plus alot less under the hood temps.

is that the 2.8 12v with the motodeath s/c on it that has that god ugly c/f interior trim

audispeed

no, the motodyne supercharger wouldnt put out that much boost. yes that engine has a ton of money in it. but probably not as much as you think. but any full weight s4 that runs 10 flat will probably have even more money in the engine.

Thats funny. If you looked at the fastest slip times, you'd notice that it was a 12V motor. I do understand your frustration though. You can make any car fast if you dump enough money into it. I am going to stick with the air pump route. Air goes in smooth, and comes out smooth.

I'd start with an intake and exhaust, you'll need them with the supercharger anyway.

I've just put on the cold air intake and a short shifter....the previous owner put an s4 exhaust on this thing and it's loud as hell. Is it worth my time to get another exhaust or is this a better system?
