When the car is off my boost gauge reads 1 inch Hg. It used to go right back to zero when I put it in. Any ideas? Reguardless i'm tearing it apart this weekend.

Disconnect the line from the gauge and see if the needle retruns to zero.

If it does then there is something causing a vacuum in the line when the car turns off.

If it doesn't then your gauge needle is now offset.

how would i set it back to 0? Are other VDO gauge users having this problem?

I think that's pretty common. I know mine isn't perfectly zero.

Have the same problem with mine. It's a crappy gauge.

yep, just installed mine today and even before I installed it, it was reading 2psi...I have an Omori gauge and bought it from here. I think the needle is offset.
