so check out what I spent my free time on this summer... 100% home made stainless steel.
Also, I installed A8 rotors and TT carriers with hawk hps pads. They are pretty grippy, but are still a bit noisy. I am hoping that goes away in a little while. Check out the difference in brake dust on the front and back wheels. the fronts were installed 2 weeks ago and the rears were installed this past spring. wheels were washed and shined two weeks ago as well.

Props for making a nice basket/rack. That takes some amount of skill. Are those skate decks I see?

nice basket! must have taken a lot of work, especially to have it go directly onto the roof rails, and not onto crossbars like most baskets go on. and is it just me, or does it taper with the roof line?

ps: ahahahahaha. all of the [up] comments are from avant owners.

Hell yeah those are some skate decks. The rack was designed to throw skateboards on the roof, I usually ride around with 3 or 4.
And yeah it tapers with the existing audi roof rack, that was suprisingly easy. bending 162 links in the wire and having each one meet up perfectly in the grid was the tricky part.
Thanks for the comments. It's definitely an avant thing. [up]

my Hawk HPS' squeel like crazy. they're sooooooooooo freaking loud after they get just a little warm. they don't do it at first, but halfway to work it's terrible. they only got bad in the last couple months. hopefully beemer832 and i are going to take them off and put some anti-squeel on there this weekend. it helps when i get a wash and spray into the calipers/rotors real good, but it doesn't last but a day before they start squeeling again.

plus, i think the OEM rotors i bought off of germanautoparts are warped so on light pressure you get a light wobbling squeek, little more pressure and they squeel, harder and it's f'ing loud as shit. only under a really hard stop or very light braking do they not squeel.

i've got HPS's out back and they're fine, no noise at all. Real happy!

yeah i put bends in the wire so they would "latch" and tack welded a few of 'em.
