Those should look great. Can't wait to see pics of them when done, with rubber and sitting proper.

Jacks definately the man. Do you know about the norcal meet at Dublin Hooters on thursday? go to the norcal section and check it out. I'll be there, hopefully your car will be ready for me to check it out and drool over it!

Hooters and Audis ? SWEET !

Dick says the tires should be in by tomorrow - hopefully the wheels should be mounted by WED. It would be great to make it out to Dublin and meet fellow AZine folks.

mounted 245/30/20 F and 255/30/20 R. with the wheel width difference, the diameter difference comes out to about 0.2". hopefully not enough of a difference to throw off the center diff.

sorry - I'm lagging with the pics. I have to go back tomorrow and get some spacers put in for the rear wheels. the upper spring perch rubs slightly to the inside bead of the wheel - but only on the driver's side (weird).

Looks GREAT!
Those tires are thin. What are they, 1 series?

Yeah, you know what? I was parked right near your car, in the AZ section, but I wasn't sure who you were. My wife dragged me off to go drool over E63s and I forgot to go asking for you.
Sorry!

OK, m-avant, where are those pics! [:D]

the driver side rear spring perch rubbed - so 3mm spacers were used for the rears. the actual offsets of the wheels are fronts:+37mm, rear: +43mm. for a 20x9.5 rear, a safe offset for a narrow body seems to be +40 (if you don't want to roll fenders). Tires are Falken 452: 245/30/20F, 255/30/20R

Are you going to lower your ride? If so, with what and how much?

I am going to put 20's on my car, but am thinking of just getting sport springs instead of coilovers.

I'm planning on going with Eibachs and FSDs for the A6. I have that set-up (Eibach/FSD) on my GTI. Even with 19s - the car is compliant, has great ride quality, and is tight / sporty when needed.

How low do the Eibach's drop the car?

m-avant
08-24-2007, 10:12 PM
According to Eibach, the Avant and the sedan are different. The sedan version lowers the car 1.4"F, 1.3"R. the Avant springs lower the car 1.2" F&R.

LOL @ the Q7 - that's a good one.

I agree - suspension is next, just waiting for the stock dampers to wear out. soon I hope, it just broke the 40K mark...
