So yeah, was out of my house for no more than 5 minutes today on my way to my friends, when this lady (who is from out of state!) completely just turns into the side of my car.. So I am now looking for 2 new doors-passenger side front and back for a 2000 1.8t.. I am real pissed, because the officer called it my fault and gave me an improper passing ticket while this lady was very clearly in the right hand turn lane.. well i'm going to fight it, but yeah in the mean time.. Anyone who knows where or any for sale let me know. Can be stripped ect..just dent free. Will be getting my whole car painted now anyway(i needed an excuse lol)

Ok so after talking to one of my buddies who works at a body shop.. He was telling me that it is possible to take the door apart(removing the inner metal shield and all the rivets) and you will be able to get at the dents and pop them out. Can anyone confirm this? And would it be worth doing myself and then just getting them repainted? I wouldn't have a problem popping/bondo the dents..just have no idea if it is possilbe to get at where he is talking about. It is right on the impact bar.. I guess in the simplist way to ask..Is it worth all the time to pull apart the door(if possible) pop the dents and then bondo? Will get some pics up tomorrow so you can see where they are its dark and rainy right now.

stay away from bondo if you can. your best bet would be a new door skin if your door frame is alright.

letting you know a new door is going to be about 420$ thats mine is costing me to get the drivers side door new, and no they do not make a skin for these doors, you either fix it find a used one or a buy a new one good luck man

well if he wants it done right he would need to buy a new/used door depending on the damages he has. and what do you mean they dont make a skin? im fairly certain the door skin and door frame are two seperate pieces.

yea i know what you mean, but for the b5 they dont make a skin to buy, i have searched for a year now and i have been to 6 body shops telling me that i need a brand new door because they dont make a skin for them

yeah, it sucks.. So is it possible to pull the door apart and be able to get at it to fix the dents? it isn't real bad at all, just the doors are all dented in pretty much right on the seam where the 2 meet.

yeah that's what I was thinking..It's right on the impact bar which sucks.. I'll hopefully just be able to find some doors in good shape and not have to deal with all the work that would have to be put into trying to make those doors look new again.
