View Full Version : Intake Silencer?

Is there an intake silencer we can remove on our cars somewhere inside the airbox to make the spooling and diverter a bit louder? I know you can put a cone filter in or poke holes in your airbox, but I'd like to stay away from both. I'd like to keep the stock look of my airbox for now and have it a little more audible. Any way to do this?

Yeah, that's where you poke holes in your airbox, right? I don't want to do a hack job on my car or anything... I was considering just going with the Carbonio just for the cleanliness factor, but can think of soooo many better ways to spend my money.

No, the air box is just a box.

That swiss chesse mod is pretty ghetto. I guess I'll just hold out for a CAI eventually.

Well... because you're drilling holes into the bottom of your air box for one... Well, I guess you're right actually. If I don't like it, a stock airbox is what, 20 bucks somewhere? I think if I do it, I'd just leave the stock filter in there, heard too many stories of the oily K&Ns screwing up MAFs.

Yeh dude I think I might actually take you up on that... I'd rather hack up another one and have my stock one as backup. Bring it to the next meet [up]

the oily k&ns are from people that put too much oil on their filter. if you get the filter straight from the factory, it should be oiled fine. its just that when people resell it, they oil it themselves and just dump the whole bottle on. im a firm believer of the k&n filter. its good stuff. : )

I have had a K&N filter and there is no difference between the stock an the the K&N.. As for the swiss cheese air box mod I did it still have it on my car right now and there is a little lag before you reach 2k but anything after that it is great and it purges very nicely with my 007 sounds sick as hell and I get compliments alot on it.. Six5oh did you still want pics of my boost gauge I found my camera?

Theres more lag than stock? Sure, let me see the gauge. I put mine on a few days ago but it would be nice to see a comparison.
