Im getting the characterstic lifter tick found on high mileage 1.8ts whats the easist way to find and replace the bad ones without spending a fortune on 20 $22 dollar lifters?

damn.. hit me up i can get em cheaper

if you're gonna go through the trouble, i would just do all of them. you can probably tell which ones are bad just by looking at them.

Run some Seafoam or other reputable oil treatment before tearing things apart. Mine sounded like they needed replacing too but it was fixed in 5 minutes for 6 bucks. Head rebuilds are costly and time consuming.

If you remove the valve cover and take out the cams and pull them out and they fall to pieces, that's one way to tell if they are bad. But like was mentioned before, I would try Seafoam first, and if that doesn't work, then just replace them all.
