Alright, tell me if this sounds like the problem to you guys?

It is a 96' A4 Automatic to start with.
You try to turn it over, and does nothing. It flashes "In 2nd" on the odometer like it's stuck in 2nd gear. Of coarse a car isn't going to start if it thinks its in 2nd gear. What do you guys think?

That's what it does. At first I thought it was the battery, but the stereo and display and everything just kept on and kept on playing forever and would never die. So I changed out the battery, which did no good, but it was time for a new one. It still does nothing at all. Sounds like you might can hear the starter clicking. Anyone know how hard this thing is to change on the A4?

Alright, I just want to make sure it's the switch, instead of actually going in gear its self. Where it shows on the dash what gear your in, if you shift the lever, it changes, like for drive, it shows it's in drive, but on the odemeter it still flashes 2nd? Is it even going into a differn't gear or is it this switch for sure?

This is why I hope it's not the switch. Check out the price on this thing.

How hard are they to get to, or change?
