View Full Version : Changing brake lines and flushing fluid without the brakes on the carriers?

I'm in the middle of changing my control arms (after like a month of trying to get parts and rusted in pinch bolts...) and I need to change my brake lines, pads, and flush the fluid. Can I change out the lines, put on the pads, and pressurize the lines before I put the calipers on the caliper carriers? I'm assuming not, because the pressure would make them flop around like crazy, correct?

Thanks!

Kyle

No because the pressure has to push against the rotor/pads to get the pressure in the lines right. Thats what I did. If you try to pressurize the lines without the calipers on then they will just push all the way in and youll never get it. Id finish the CA job then work on the brakes, so you dont put anything on backwards or out o forder and have to undo shit.
