Hey guys. I just recently bought interior trim for my 2001 A4 that came out of of 99.5 A4 2.8. I assumed that the pieces would be the same, but when I tried to make the swap, the shifter trim from the 99.5 A4 was too big. I think the other pieces fit, but are their any differences that I need to be aware of next time I want to buy something else? BTW, the wood trim is for sale if anyone is interested.

I believe there are differences from year to year on the shifter piece as some years had ashtrays/slots. I went to the dealer to get mine repaced due to scratches and such and they stated that they would need to look at the car as there are differences but I decided not to replace as the dealer cost was around $100.

it also depends on what stereo your car came with. The symphony is a double DIN unit and the concert has a cingle DIN unit and that makes the ashtrays in different spots. The trim for the console for the concert stereo is longer then then the one for the symphony radio.

The 99.5 is a facelift car by definition. The only differences between it and a early 99 are the facelift items like lights, fogs, door handles, center console, etc..
