I like the EBC Red pads myself and you can get EBC slotted and dimpled rotors for about $500 all the way around (depends on your specific year and model). I have installed them before on my explorer and it is an easy enough job. I am absolutely not the authority on this subject, so anyone feel free to chime in, but a BBK looks great but doesn't necessarilly help you stop any quicker. There is a larger diameter rotor which doesn't heat up as much and dissipates more heat but doesn't provide more clamping force...more like less fade...unless the new calipers have more pistons and possibly a larger brake fluid reservoir to move those pistons.
I would go with StopTech, or similar, steel braided brake lines and EBC (or similar) pads and rotors. I am sure everyone will have their own opinion but that is mine, unless you are going to AutoX.

If you need a shop to do the install work and what not i use Fred's AUtohaus at Tropican & Pecos. Excelent work and very fair prices. Just tell him CHris /w the blue passat sent you and he'll take care of you. WIth a wink! j/k.
And Stoptechs are just copies of Brembo at a fraction of the price. Performance wise they are the same. Just my $0.02. ( i got 332mm Stoptechs)
^^^dont think i wanna upgrade to bbk. i'm probably just gonna get some better rotors and swap the pads... coz i have to.
