Can any A4 wrenchers tell me the way to retract the piston on the rear break caliper.Does it retract by screwing it in clock wise or counter clock wise? Any tips appriciated.

Turn clockwise and it will compress - you need to compress and turn at the same time. You can rent the tool from AutoZone.

Has anyone used one of those "cube adapters" which you attach onto your ratchet? I have one lying around but haven't needed to replace my rear brake pads yet. Don't even know if it works well. I figure with one of these adapters, you'll still need a C-clamp or any other type of compressor at the same time to retract the piston.

It works like a piece of shit. I bought it, returned it 20 minutes later and bought the kit. The cube was like $15, the kit was $35. Took me 20 minutes to do both sides in the rear once I had it.

I bought the cube too, and it didn't work since any two notches on the cube are not wide enough for the piston grooves~
