How much is everyone paying to replace their clutch? I'm not looking to upgrade it to handle more power or anything the car is stock so it basically just needs a OEM or equivalent clutch. My clutch is getting thin and I can feel it slipping. I called a local mechanic and they wanted $1100 to replace the clutch. They said some valve also needs to be replaced to prevent future leaks. $1100 sounds steep!

Whats the average cost for a clutch replacement on a 1998 B5 A4 2.8, non quattro.

I would charge you 600 plus parts.

How much are parts? $400? if thats the case $1100 sounds close...

Do you know what the mechanic I called was referring to when he said theres some extra valves that needs to be replaced along with the clutch to prevent leaks in the future?

the mechanic most likely wants to change the slave cylinder, If that goies out your clutch doesnt work, the pedal drops to the floor.
