Finally got around to hooking up my EBC. I must say, its pretty friggin sick. Boost hits you nicely and its smooth all the way to red line. I'm hitting 25 psi in third for the high boost setting and 22 on the low boost setting. I'm gonna leave it on 22 for pump. 25 is for the race file.

BTW, what should i trust more...my vdo boost guage or the greddy boost sensor?

ahahah greddy - but dam that is pretty high boost - what octane is pump over there - what was the difference between the n75 with a mbc vs. your set up now are you still using the n75 with the greddy

i got to clean up the interior. The engine bay is tidied up but the wiring and mounting is a mess. I know I owe audizine a bunch of pictures. Hopefully tomarrow I can get some up. This weekend i had to glue back together my s4 bumper cause a paint can flew off a truck and hit me so I deleted the grills and horizontal posts and addes rs4(home depot mesh).

It hits max boost about the same time as before about 3800 for 20psi. I don' think you can magically change the boost characteristics. its either mental or it really has a different feel to it. I took my buddy for a ride and he says it feels quicker. The way the boost comes on feels stronger. I haven't played with the settings much. I still need to learn a bit as this controller has too many features.

Boost came on ~300 rpms sooner with my profec b spec 2 compared to my boostvalve MBC. It's definately smoother with the EBC too.

well obviously a mbc is set by bleeding off a certain pressure to the wastegate to achieve a desired boost. I guess the electronic boost controler does the same. I have a little more precision in setting it and i don't have to get my hands in the hood and make the adjustment. I can also adjust and change boost settings on the fly. I have 2 settings and an off setting. I sill have the n75 hooked up to itself to avoid the CEL. I'm running 93 pump on 22ish psi.

what settings are you using? when do you hit 20 psi? gain and solenoid duty cycle are what im after.

sounds like a great set up and I'll probably follow you soon in the ebc

I only got this ebc cause it was a good deal from dannslc. (by the way it was super easy to hook up).

My friends have the apexi unit and it is VERY nice and a small form factor. If you are looking for a nice high end controler this is the one. Otherwise the profec B spec 2 is great for the money.

I need to get another sensor harness so I can log my timing/anything I feel like.

how about the n75 vs ebc? im going to be running a revo or unitronic tune, and both of those are programmed well for the n75

boost will come in faster. My friends running a uni tune also have EBC and its a nice combo. I think the uni BT tunes require a MBC anyways. Adjusments are super easy. It would be worth it from a convenience standpoint. Try and find someone that regrets buying and EBC. There is no more counting clicks on the MBC and locknuts to worry about and you don't have to pull over and pop the hood to make adjustments. I used to think "meh, whats the big deal?" but i feel like my life has changed. haha
