its an 03' sport quattro. im looking for low or no dust, and quiet, while still providing better breaking.

I recommend the HPS pads. Good initial bite, low dust, huge improvement over the OEM pads. The ceramic has less dust but also less initial bite than the HPS. I have read some complaints about the HP plus pads for initial bite until the pads are full heated up. I have also heard several complaint of squealing from the HP plus. If you get the HPS pads without wear sensors just cut the sensor plug from your OEM pads, solder the two ends together, and plug it back into the harness so you don't get a worn pad warning.

1.8T = 288mm rotors. 3.0 = 312mm rotors.

Thats true. I run these pads. They don't bite to there full potential until they are heated up, once they are, these things brake... And yes they squeal like crazy and never stop. Hope this helps. [:)]

I wouldn't recommend the Hawk's unless you want to deal with some school-bus type squeaking, whether using the HPS Street or Plus. If you are ok with some noise then they're great....most of our clients don't want to put up with it.

Another GREAT pad for fast street/mild track I'd recommend, low dust, NO noise;
Pagid RS4-2-1 front brake pad set for B5 (B6)A4/A6/Passat; w/ sensor
$79.90

We have these in stock if you'd like. Same day s/h as well, no sales tax, impeccable customer service.
LMK how we can help.

Maybe I just got lucky but I've been using Hawk HPS pads front and rear for ~20K miles and not a single squeal or squeak. I did put anti-squeal on the back of the pads prior to installation as I would recommend with any pad.

Few clients have experienced the same (no squeaking) but many more have experienced squeaking. It can depend on driving style as well however.

Hawk HPS for almost a month now. Rears were stock pad down to the width of a potato chip fronts were akebono with plenty of meat left.

DIY on new rotors and SS lines. I used some red/pink anti-squeal on the back of most pads and bedded in exactly as specified on the box.

Not a peep from them since and dust is down all aroun'!

my friend just put hps's on his 240 and they squeel, not as bad as my mintex though. it def helps to put the anti-squeel on, i dunno if he did or not.
