has anybody heard of any possible prices for the A5 or S5 because within the next few months i was planning on selling my car and buying a used b7 s4, but now that they have a possible date set for the s5 (fall of 08) i may just wait for it, but if anybody can give me some rough numbers that would be appericated

A5 = mid $40's
S5 = mid $50's

in USD... these are the numbers that all the dealers have been telling me so far and im guessing they're conservative numbers cuz people would be PISSED to find out the car cost more than rumored.

lol...yeah right.

and the s5 will be starting at around 35k, right?

40 for a
50 for s

is a good starting point.

Ive been told their best guess is 3-4k more than the s4.

Then again, theyve also been saying novemberish of 07, not 08...so who knows.

Mid-high 30s for a base A5 sounds about right to me. Although yahoo autos says base price for A5 should be right below 30 (http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/future_cars/audi_a5_2008.html).

I hope those of you who are saying mid 30's or so are right because if so, then I know what my next whip will be.

Yes,
I hope the A5 starts around $35k and the loaded model at $42 max.
More than that starts competing with the A6.

35k for the a would be awesome.

i hope i am wrong then...but with options, i would not be surprised at 40k for the a5.

Yea I agree. Any more than 43K or so, it starts getting into A6 territory.

(off topic; But I'm excited to see what the B8 A4 is like. If it's anything like the recent renderings, it might be very similar to the A5, just 4 doors. Guess we'll see come Sept.)

Highly doubt it, that A4 render looks like shit. I've been trying to find the other render of the A4/S4, it seems like the real deal. Ah here, I found it:

MUCH better.

that looks more like the upcoming A7 to compete with the CLS

the A4 3.2 quattro starts at $36k
i would guess the A5 would start around $38k maybe $37k
they can't really price it too high.. then it will become S4s territory that start at $47

"It matches my toe nail polish, and that means something." God, she's so stupid... Anyhow that's the one I sat in in New York. 55, huh? How come we haven't heard numbers anywhere else? Interesting...

Fully loaded S5 will come out to 62k which includes some 6500 audio package.
Here's a good review from edmunds with lots of pictures and videos.

Where did you get that number from? Why would the sound system in the S5 cost as much as the one in the S8? Isn't the R8 even cheaper than that? It makes no sense. Edmund's review is great but there are no numbers officially available yet. Those will come in September with the demo cars.

I know, it's hideous. The render I have is what is most likely the A4. The render you have was done by a magazine, not Audi.

Ah I see. I kinda like both, but favor the one you posted; Looks meaner.

why am I hearing the S5 fully loaded is at 62k...isnt that close to rs4 territory??if the rs5 comes out does that mean its going to be 70k!!!!!?? Shouldn't the a5 be at a competitive price with the 335 coupe?? Because I ordered a 335 but if the price is right I'm canceling i love audi way more lol.

IMO this 2nd one is gorgeous! That first one has lines of the civic sedan if you ask me.

Sounds nice. What delivery date / time frame did the dealer quote you?

I just resigned from an Audi dealership in the chicago area and am on first name basis with the regional director for Audi of America in my area and one of the District Managers John Linc says that as soon as Audi lets them know what theyre going to set prices at I'll know.

I email him every other week because I want one. And and S5 with r-tronic next spring/summer would be sexy. [:p]

Your best bet is to call your local trustworthy Audi Brand Specialist and harass them. If they want the commission they'll get back to you asap.

As of now the european counterpart A5/S5's are waaaaay more expensive than what ours are going to be. Come on, $120k for a 3.0 TDI A5. You guys know EU Audis are more $$$$.

I think they wont release anything until they roll off the truck.
