Sooo.. I had the same problem as this guy in this thread (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148313)
with my car, whenever i accelerated at very low speeds and make sharp turns my car would start to shake and rumble right under the driver's seat. so i take my car to a local mechanic to see whats wrong and get a estimate. he takes the car over night and tells me my drive shaft is worn, and iam going to need a new front axle and could cost about $1,000 with labor. i take the car to another mechanic and i watch him put the car on a lift, unscrew the shield for the drive shaft to find that the BRAND NEW driveshaft wasnt even screwed in all the way. iam guessing from the previous owner of the car...
the guy charged me 15$ for unscrewing and lifting the car and shit, but iam SO happy i didnt just waste the money on that.

you just can NEVER trust stranger mechanics,..... rofl my copter

That's why I either do all the work on my car myself or take it to the most trustworthy shop on the face of this planet... Matrix Integrated. Haha I feel blessed that I only live 5 miles from their shop.

half these NY mechanics don't even bother checking the actual part.. they just make an assumption (usually the most expensive assumption too)....

you should go back and tell the guy to order whatever parts he needs to fix the car, no matter what the costs[:D] and to give you a call (on the fake number you provide) when the parts arrive...if they'll do that...

$1000 for an axle is a pretty bad assumption...
