Hi guys,

In the B6 A4 section, it lists the following parts needed to upgrade to a B7 RS4 rear sway bar:

RS4 Rear Sway Bar: 22mm
-Rear Sway: 8E0511409AM
-Rear Sway Bushes: 8E0511327B (X2)
-Bolts for Brackets: N10127706 (X4)
-Bolts for ARB links: N10528101 (X2)

Anyone know if these part numbers are the same in Australia? Is it the same for us RHD folk? Greg?

Thanks in advance,

Bought this via Audi @ Parramatta (2 weeks wait)

1 x B7 RS4 22mm Rear Stabilizer Bar - 8E0-511-409-AL (new number)
2 x Rubber bushings for bar - 8E0-511-327-B
4 x Bolts for rear stabilizer bar - N-101-277-06
2 x Screw N-105-281-01

The bolts are optional as you can use your current ones but for the extra $10 why not.

Total Cost $226

Perfect! I was going to ask about this also sooner or later.

I got a quote for $165.35 for the bar with the above part number. The guy said I can get a 10% trade discount. This sound about right?

Any ideas if the price is the same across the board at any Audi dealer in Australia? There's only one Audi dealer in SA and dunno if they jack up the prices.

Can I ask why do a lot of you B7 owners upgrade to RS4 rear swaybar only but not front swaybar?

apparently the thickness of it on the rear is just enough to dial out the understeer caused by the heavy front end...

its a bang for your buck upgrade (for <au$250 from the dealer). but then a lot of ppl also do the H-Sport package which is 35mm front/22mm rear or H&R which is 32mm front/20mm rear but ordering these products in from america and after shipping costs etc, just isn't as value for money as just doing the rs4 rear sway bar locally.

will front swaybar reduce understeer as well?

RS4 front and A4 front sway bars are the same size. However if you go for the H&R sway bar kit that upgrades front and rear bars you will improve the overall handling of the car. Stiffer front sway bar improves turn in and the steering will be more direct and precise e.g quick changes in steering direction will be much better. If you only upgrade rear (OEM RS4) you will reduce understeer which also improves handling but your turn in and directional steering will be the same. Which is better? probably doing both! But unless your racing your car its probably not worth the money.
