how many runs do you think you will get?

ActiveMonkey
07-01-2007, 04:11 PM
If you are there the entire time... i'd guess about 8-10 sessions, 2 runs per session, so i guess would be 16-20 runs on the track.

Sounds like fun! But there's a regular SCCA AutoX setup for that day, so a bunch of us regular autoX'ers may be at an SCCA event instead. If this happens again, I'd like to try it out.

Mo, I have raced on tracks before in Europe (including Nurburgring and A1 Ring :) ), so no probs there. However, have never done an autocross before so want to check it out before having a go. Am afraid I might get so freakin confused and go the wrong way. But very keen to have a go. :)

The setup looks like a cake walk compared to a traditional autocross lay out. Nick, did you ever hit 3rd?

ActiveMonkey
07-03-2007, 11:55 PM
on the long banked right turn i should have gone into 3rd, but my 3rd gear syncro was being bitchy so i was high revving in 2nd.

Lol..that happened to me when i was watching vids a while back! Mo and kievsky just told me that, the people at the auto-x event will make you walk the course. So, i'm guessing we have to memorize all the turns :|

Bring the car w/ the most torque. Autocross your typically in high 2nd or just barely in 3rd. Your also either full throttle or full brake but w/ AWD I have learned that you need to trail brake alot to get the rear end around. Trailbraking is gas brake at the same time. Basically left foot braking.

Your rides should have anough power to create rotation with the throttle and thats what im used to in an RWD car.

My Audi is waay to slow to run it my way =)

Damn dude, you have all the toys[up] If you want to put on a show, go for it. However, its not the fastest way around the track but it is fun and looks good[up]

Really though, any of your cars are worthy to bring out and im sure will be turning some heads.[up]

Ill be the #30 Avant so holler at me!

I got the rim back but for some reason I found a leak on my LR tire that needs to be filled once a day (not a biggie) but my ordeal is now this, I am going to be all the way in Santa Rosa this weekend playing golf. I have to see if the wifey can drive seperately so that I can take off early in the morning.

I will most likely make it happen but it will be tough!

EuroIP has a damn nice WRX. Makes me think that if a dear should just to happen to jump in front of me, i might have to go that route. Probably could have been faster if i wasn't slipping out of the seat, but good enough post the 2nd fasted time of the day!

Damn nice car man!
