View Full Version : Flashing brake light

First let me start by saying i don't have ASR so here goes.

Leaving the dirt lot at school today (Parking garage closed) i got on it hard and the brake light flashed 5 times and i smelt a wee bit of tire. Is the ABS something that controls 'slip' in our cars? If so, would the tires light up if the ABS was dissconnected?

thanks guys, i want to make sure the flashing light isn't a bad thing as a flashing CEL is very bad.

ABS controls EDL and yes those will control slip. Thats why my tires were spinning just before the carnage. My ABS had a code I can assume the ABS is on it's way out, which is fine with me. EFF ABS.

Also double check that your brake fluid level is fine. Mine doesn't have ESP either and can spin it's tires all day in the snow.

Oh the brake fluid level is fine and i can spin them with no problem in the snow, they started spinning the minitue i hit pavement at 24psi.

Oh well, it's not going anywhere untill i get the trans replaced that i just blew up
