After all the stuff that I had went through with getting my brakes to fit and work properly I decided to have my lips polished out as they were dull and full of hard water spots and the more people got close to look at the brakes the more they noticed how bad the wheels looked.

I had a good friend of mine who owns a mobile wheel repair and refinishing business repair and polish all of the lips on my IForged wheels. One wheel has some real bad road rash and some of the others had some medium to minor scratches. As of now all the scratches and road rash are gone and they all now have a nice shiny polished lip.

Here are a few before and after pics and I will get some better daytime full car shots.

The third after picture still had a little polishing residue left but that was all gone after the wheels were washed and dried and for some reason my camera did not do the wheels justice as they came out with an almost mirror like finish. For anyone in the Bay Area, my friend will travel and work on your wheels at work or at home. He does very good work and can also do clear coating if you want it.

Let me know what you think and feel free to ask any questions.

You know, there is nothing on your car that I would have chosen if I were building it (body kit, apr stg 3, suspension, swaybars), except the brakes, but overall I really really like it. [up]

Wheels look great.

Thanks ............................ I think [confused] ........... [:D]

I know there was a compliment in there somewhere, and to tell you the truth I am in the process of changing some of the body kit pieces as they were not my first choice but they kinda grew on me.

I want to do it b/c it looks like the clear coat is peeling, so that will probably take it off, but it wont cause any problems due to removing the top coat right??

No it won't cause any problems. He did my first set of IForged wheels and after he polished them he clear coated them so that they would stay shiny. One day I went to a car wash and they used something on the wheels that took off the clear coat so I just finished taking off the rest of the clear coat and had them repolished so you should have no problems.

As far as the process goes he used various pads and polishes to get the finish you see here but I'm sure there are different methods that can be used to get the same results. He used air tools and multiple pads.

Well, back to the polishing guy. After having the outer lips polished, the inner barrel now looks like crap so I will be having the inner barrells polished on Monday to match the outer lip. I will also have the CF trunk and hood clear coated as well since I've never had it done and we should be able to get this done on Monday also.

Just a reminder that for anyone local, this guy is very good and very detail oriented so the work is awesome and at a reasonable price especially since he is mobile.
