To complement the "what year" poll, I thought it might be interesting to see how many of each engine we've got on here. I'm expecting the majority to be 1.8T's, but it still might be interesting to see the actual numbers . . .

. . . and yes, if you've SC'ed your 2.8 or done something special, please just mark which engine you started with.

what a relief. i thought this was going to be one of thse, "which is the better engine" posts..

but for some reason i have a feeling that this could still turn into one

Hahaha, as I stated in the other post, what if you have both?!

Pick your favorite, just don't let the A4's know who the favorite is; they might start crying. [;)]

Well, I have my favorites on certain days... The 2.8 is our comfort car while the 1.8 is my little fast demon! So hard to choose... [:(]

I have a 1.8t. I'd choose a BT 1.8 on the weekends and a loaded 30v tip for daily driving.

1.8t all the way.

Had to fix that one for ya. [;)]

2.8

its the better option for me because i dont want to put any money into my car that could otherwise go into the "Get Zach an S4 Foundation."

That is an amazing price for the year and mileage. How'd you manage that one?

I inherited my dad's 2.8 at 16 with 180,000 miles and now I'm at 220,000. Performance and fun may not be as great as the turbo, but reliablity is second to none with the V6.

I have to say I'm still pretty satisfied with my choice for the 2.8. I'm slowly saving for that SC and although it's really the only major performance mod, it makes for a really unique B5 (not a lot of SC'ed 2.8's out there).

After owning the 1.8T for a while. I would choose the same thing. My dad has a 2.8 and I want to trade sometimes..
