me and my buddy just finished installing my Bilstein PSS9's on my A4. the fronts were nice and easy....the rear took a little longer, because we did the rs4 sway bar also....
so now here is the thing...the rears aren't at an even height.....on the ground they are only off by a 1/16....but the perches are 1/4" different in height...it bugs me, and need to adjust...i really want to raise the rear a bit more anyway.... so i was turning for a while and the perch height didn't change...i noticed that the threaded portion of the perch kept rotating along with the black ring....is there a trick to adjusting the rear perches while on the car......do i need to break down the rear assembly again??? any advice would be greatly appreciated....
thanks

I have stasis streetsports and to adjust the rear height means breaking down the rear again. Hope you can adjust without taking it apart again.

You'd have to take off the spring with either a spring compressor or drop the whole subframe and try to take out the spring. Or else you won't get anywhere.
It's really hard and almost impossible to adjust it while it's still on the car. =) I had to figure this out the hard way.

thats what i figured...i just need to adjust like a 1/4"... such a bitch now....thinking aboutit...its really a stupid design....the top perch should've been keyed, or the round metal plate portion of the threaded tube that touched the sub frame should've been eccentric so it interferes with that lip on the sub frame, and would stop its rotation...my buddies welder was broken....we were thinking about tacking it so it wouldn't rotate...he didn't have aluminum wire either for the welder...
i have to say, the entire kit is top notch....but this part is just lacking....you should be able to adjust while on the car....
i guess we gotta get back to it tommorrow night....

yep. i feel the same way. i had h&r's and it was a simple turn of the allen from underneath. i've become a pro in dropping the subframe from adjusting so much. i can do both sides within 30min now[rolleyes]
i was in the same boat, I wanted to bump the rears up another 1/4" or so because it was a little too tuck for me. From following the manual specs, it came out perfect but I should have took into consideration that the manual doesn't realize that I have ~100 lbs of audio equip. So I ended up taking the subs and amp out and now it sits nicely.
However, I still want to increase it just a tad bit..i tried to the other night and the same thing happen..it spun the whole lower threaded sleeve. I will give it another shot while the spring is compress and subframe is dropped and see if it's easier to spin, not to mention that it is hard enough to even fit in the coilover wrenches!!!!
Keep us updated on how it goes

The only way ive found to adjust the rear without disassembling the entire rear assembly is to
1. Compress the spring as much as possible
2. Use a hammer and a long flat head screw driver and hit (in the desired direction) the blue thread sleave where you would use the coilover wrench
This will turn the sleeve and depending how hard you hit 3 - 4 hits should equal a full rotation. This is a slow process but if your only after 1/4" it wont be a problem.
Anything more i suggest you pull apart the rear assembly.

i took the large coil over wrench and bent the handle 90 degrees, it actually made getting in the rear quarters easy, and turing the collar was no problem...just the fact that the rear threaded tube kept rotating with the collar....i can't get in there with the spring compressors that i rented....the don't fit in between the coils of the bilstein springs...maybe a ratchet strap through the coils and around the lower control arm

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
it just came to me while at work....im a mech eng. i do 3-D modeling all day....so as to better describe my plan...i'll use this model i made up
the perch isn't drawn to scale, but you get the idea..im goin to drill a hole, and get nice sized hook, and hold it with one hand and turn with the other...this should work, i may be able get a ratchet strap hook into the hole,
as far as compromising the structural integrity this section will not experience load, nor will i thread the perches to this section of the unit
