so 6 hours later and no test pipe install ... I realize you CANNOT install this thing without a lift!!!
I had my car HIGH AS HeLL!! and this thing couldn't be forced out... you need a 90 deg angle to the car to pull it down.. and good luck unbolting the stock test pipe without the whole piece out.. HA!
So, i gave up and cleared my corners and installed my HID's. Going to Gzo17's shop tommorow to lift this bitch up!! And get chipped.. Next mod = Onyx black 19" I will take pictures when i get thos wheels.

P.S. I am still waiting on a wiring diagram , or an idea where the beeper wire is so i can splice it into my horn and make a man alarm outa this piunny "alarm"

You are not gonna be able to get it out from the bottom if you AUTO. Try taking that metal Heat shield out and you should be able to get it out from the top

Man I made the same mistake.

I'm CVT and I followed the audizine DYI and that is for Manual Transmission..

After unbolt everything and try so many times I just gave up and put it all back on.

The only way is doing like Chris said. Remove the Metal heat shield attached to the engine. There are 4 bolts.. 2 x 18mm and 2 allen. Be carefull taking the allen because I messed one up taking it at the first time.

Than there's another small heat cover that you see from under the car and it's attached to the tranny. The last time I swap my TP I removed thar cover and it gave more room to bolt/unbolt the bottom 3 screws from the TP.

BTW for that seconf heat cover you have 3 bolts and you use torxs.

I recommend do it with a friend and have lots of beer because it is a PITA job but you get used to. I've already removed mine 3 times.

get some spray metal grease on those nuts and use some elbow grease, that's how i was able to separate the cat from the dp under my car, but mine is stick, though i don't know how much more space i really have, gl

Perfect reminder... spray metal grease a few minutes before you start the job. It'll make a lot easier.

Also check if you have the 02 sensor tool. If not go to your local Autozone and rent one. They have the 02 sensor kit and give you a full refund when you return it at any store.

I'm curious if the installation of the test pipe for a tiptronic is the same as with the CVT. I'm getting mine within the next month and I'd definitely do it myself if it is possible to do so without using a lift. Is there anyone on the forum who has tip and installed the TP on their own? If so, i think a DIY in the FAQ sticky would be in order.

FWD with CVT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! You need a lift and alot of time... im not saying you can't do it.. but be ready to curse aLOT and hate life while you take apart your whole car just to remove this FAT pipe
