Hey Everyone,

So I have been planning on doing the Xenon retro for a while, I got in an accident back in Feb and have been just waiting since then to do the install.

So it is now to the point where I am able to run the Kufatec cable. My issue is that the shop had to remove the dashboard in order to repair a corner of the firewall that was damaged in the accident. This makes it easy to access the wires.... but there are so many.

I am wondering if anyone could describe the connectors that I need to run the four wires from the Kufatec adapter to for the xenons? Maybe even a picture?

I have already run the cables through the firewall and I know the pin #'s that the wires need to go to, I just need to know where the connectors are that I need to run these to. Anyway TIA for any help

Okay, so I got a couple very crappy camera phone pictures.

I was able to get the pink wires into the grey connector. My issue now is the Grey wires into the black connector.

All the instructions I find say the two grey wires go to pins 16 and 18 of the 23 pin black connector.... I was able to remove the wires and pins from 16 and 18 but there is a problem.

The issue is... the pins that come on the Kufatec harness are larger than pins 16 and 18 that are in the black connector. However, there are two pins that are larger on the black connector but I believe they are pin #22 and 23.

On the picture I marked a few of the pins with different colors. The pins that don't have any wires running to them and are empty are marked in red. The pins marked in yellow are what I believe to be pins 16 and 18. The pins marked in green are the ones that look to be the same size as the pins which come with the Kufatec harness.

Anyway if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I want to be sure I get the wires in the right spot.

TIA

Pyrobecks,

I cut the pins off the Kufatec harness and spliced into the existing pin 16 and 18 conductors. No need to remove them from the harness. See note 8 of my original write-up. They basically run to the high beam bulbs in your existing halogen housings.

To help you confirm the correct pins:

Pin 16 = white/yellow wire
Pin 18 = white/black wire

When coded for halogen lighting pins 16 and 18 are routed to the high beam bulbs. When coded for xenon pins 16 and 18 are routed to DRl bulbs. The DRl bulbs in the xenon housings are actually in the same location as the high beam bulbs in the halogen housings. The only difference is the wattage and how they are switched.

Hope this helps.

I thought the pink wires were for the DRL's.... but anyway when you spliced the wires did you cut them or leave the existing wires still attached?

TIA

I left the wires attached. Wifh your Kufatec adapter plugged in to the new headlights, the stock wires to pins 16/18 are left 'opened' and do not have continuity to anything. Just use a splice tap to the existing wires and your all done.

My memory might be a little off on the DRL/HB control. I would have to look at the wiring diagrams again to confirm.
