View Full Version : loose plastic hose underneath the car.. ??

i was replacing my diverter valve today (which was succesfull!!) ..anyway.. i found a loose plastic broken of hose just next to it. I made a picture of it (taken from the bottom of my car on the passanger sidewith teh botton plastic removed:

any idea what it is ??? and or how to fix it?

ps) if you follow that black plastic hose in the bottom to the left it has no end. I saw the end of it had broken of somewhere higher next to the diverter valve.

yeah that goes to your air box. its your secondary pump. get a mini air filter for it. or rip out the whole thing and throw a cell. i have a mini cone filter on mine.

so its an air intake for a second pump? ill just a get a little filter for it then.

what is this plastic line? anyone ? normally this plastic hose goes up and connects somewhere.. is it like dmaize says the secondary pump? whats it for?

is this thing (red circle) the intercooler??
and this (blue arrow) the intercooler cold air out to the turbo ??
warm weather puts me in limp mode.. thought it might be related to that plastic tube not being hooked up ?

ok. was driving through town and stopped at the first auto service place. A nice mechanic said to ride it right in. So he lifted the car and looked under it. He saw the lose hose.. and got it back attached within 5 min. He didn't even charge me. !! i love the country!! easy people here :) anywayz.. now i can sleep again :)

ps) the hose was a plastic hose that puts air into the emmisions he said.. no big deal :)

What year is your car? Is that the hose that connects back into the airbox?
